Got an email from Erin this morning.... She seems really excited even through her emails, by what God is doing in Japan. She wanted to share a few praises and ask for prayer in other areas.
Appearently they go to these Parks on what they call 'Focus Ministry Days' and try to meet people, connect with them, carry on conversations, and then share Christ with them. She met a man named Mr. Hitomi last summer and shared the Gospel with him numerous times, but he never believed. He is a major alcoholic and just doesn't comprehend that Jesus really existed/walked on the Earth. She kept in touch with him throughout the year after she came back home, but about 4 months before she returned to Japan she lost contact with him. One day this week while they were at the park, she was struggling really bad with finding someone who would listen to her and who was interested in what she had to say. Out of the corner of her eye she saw a man, she looked over and immediately recognized him.... It was Mr. Hitomi! She said she almost cried at the sight of him. Unsure if he would even recognize her she walked over to him and introduced herself and he remembered her from her name. Almost instantly they began to talk about God, Christianity, and the Bible. She said it was amazing and ask for your prayers for his life.... that he will be able to grasp the concept of God.
Another praise! They had a man come to know Christ this week! She had it in ALL caps! haha! so so so super excited! She said in all 3 years that she has been to Japan, she has never seen someone come to know Christ in one of the parks that she was working in, so that was really neat for her.
Keep Erin in your prayers! I admire her so much for going to a place, completely away from her friends and family, to serve the Lord! Such an encouragement!
She closed her email with this scripture:
Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples. For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods. For all gods of the nations are idols, but the LORD made the heavens. Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and glory are in his sanctuary. Psalm 96:3-6
